Christine Englebretson, Class of 1967

Millstadt, IL, Illinois - Christine D. Englebretson (nee Baltz), 78, of Millstadt, IL, passed away peacefully on November 15, 2023 after a long illness, with her husband and children by her side.

Christine was born March 14, 1945, in East St. Louis, IL, grew up in Millstadt, and graduated in 1963 from Belleville Township High School. She graduated from Millikin University in 1967 with a double major in History and English. On June 10, 1967 she married Robert E. Englebretson II in the Cadet Chapel at the Air Force Academy, CO. She was a dedicated wife and mother, who shepherded her family through two decades of military life around the United States before returning to settle in Millstadt in 1989. She was a fantastic cook who enjoyed entertaining, loved music, and taught adult literacy and English as a second language to spouses of military personnel.
