She was born December 22, 1919 in Karnak, IL. to Milo E. and Elsie M. Ritchie.
Polly graduated from Millikin University, Decatur, IL. in 1941. After college she taught school until she married J. Paul Hessler in 1942. Polly worked with her husband in their business until they retired.
