    Online Elementary Education Program is tailor-made for transfer and non-traditional students seeking their degree or licensure:

    • Current Education professionals and transfer students will take advantage of a two-year path to complete their degree. All teaching methods courses are offered in an 8-week, asynchronous online format. Internship courses feature a field placement in a 1-6 grade classroom and vary in length depending on Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) requirements.
    • Students with a bachelor’s degree in any field qualify for our Licensure-Only track, the fastest path to advancing their Education career.

    Additionally, Millikin offers a wide range of licensure opportunities, including English as a Second Language (ESL) and Special Education (LBS1).

    Elementary Education program has received the coveted “E𳾱” rating from the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) five straight years. Our program is exemplary because of the skills and one-on-one mentorship of our full-time faculty — it is these same faculty who have developed our Online Elementary Education Program. Our online program boasts class sizes similar to our in-person offerings and is built to fast-track your next career move while remaining flexible enough to fit your busy schedule.

    Elementary Education program prepares teachers for placement in 1-6 classrooms. Our annual School of Education Interview Bootcamp connects our students with a wide range of industry professionals whose insight and experience give them the hands-on tools required to achieve real-world success.

    Our program’s “E𳾱” ISBE ranking highlights the demonstrated quality of our teacher candidates, their knowledge and teaching skills, their performance in the classroom and their contributions to the state’s educational needs.
